There are a variety of ways for students in grade school and middle school to get involved this summer here at Catholic Memorial High School. CMH offers various summer camp activities for all interests from athletics, to the arts, and academics.

Sports Camps Offered

Boys’ Summer Strength and Speed Training

For students entering grades 7^th -12^th

The objective of summer strength training is to help athletes achieve their goal of excelling at their sport(s) of choice. We believe that an athlete’s physical preparedness enhances his or her mental image which equates to improvement in their athletic performance. The keys to an athlete’s success go beyond the practice and drills they do for a single sport. It takes a depth of skills and abilities to bring an athlete from average to exceptional. Only by improving all parts of the physical system will an athlete reach the next level of success. Through our Summer Strength and Speed Program, you will see increased mobility, increased strength, increased speed, enhanced cardio-vascular health, improved self-confidence, positive self-image, and work ethic that remains with you for life.

Players must wear gym shoes and gym clothing and bring a water bottle marked with camper’s name. Bring cleats as well for field agility work and a great work ethic.

Highly recommended for all boys interested in competing in athletics at CMH.

Offensive Line and Defensive Trenches Camp

For boys entering grades 4^th – 8^th

The OL/DL Trenches camp is designed to engage our lineman in the fundamentals and foundations to become an elite lineman. Athletes will learn how to execute techniques through skills and while learning basic schemes to help them execute run game and pass protection for the upcoming season on the offensive side and how to defend the run and execute pass rush on the defensive side of the ball.

Campers should wear gym attire and cleats and bring a water bottle

Coach Young’s Youth Football Camp

For students entering grades 1^st – 8^th

The camp will focus on the skill development of youth football players. It will also focus on teaching the defensive and offensive techniques used at the varsity level here at CMH. Each player will have the opportunity to work with the varsity coaching staff and varsity players throughout the camp.

Players should wear cleats or football shoes and athletic clothes and bring a water bottle.

Come get coached by Hall of Fame Coach Bill Young. Catholic Memorial has one of the strongest football programs in the state of Wisconsin. Come and be a part of this great tradition!

Quarterback and Wide Receiver Camp

For students entering grades 3^rd – 8^th

The CMH Quarterback and Wide Receiver skills camp is a high impact, high tempo football skills camp aimed at ensuring your athlete is able to compete on a football field, without the risk of contact.

What Camp Attendees Can Expect to Receive:

Foundational and advanced football IQ
Understanding Offensive and Defensive concepts, plays and strategy
Understanding why coaches call certain concepts at certain times
Fundamental and advanced skills required to succeed in football position(s) of choice

Fencing for Beginners

For students entering grades 5^th -10^th

Fencing is a sport that teaches self-discipline, it requires athletic ability and a keen sense of problem solving. Fencers need to think a couple of moves ahead of their opponent and the class teaches the fundamentals of the sport. Campers should wear athletic attire, shorts or warm-up pants, t-shirt and athletic shoes.

CMH Track and Field Camp

For students entering 3^rd – 8^th grade

Campers will learn skills and techniques that will help them achieve success within the sport of track and field. We will cover several different events, allowing campers to expand their skillset, while trying out new events that they may not have had the chance to try otherwise.

Campers should wear athletic shoes and bring their own water bottles.

The Crusader Girls' Rugby Camp

For students entering grades 6^th – 9^th

At the Crusader Rugby Clinic, athletes at any level of knowledge & experience can develop their fundamental rugby skills. In this 8-session clinic, we will cover passing and catching, kicking, rucking, as well as proper defensive techniques. As we work on these physical skills, we will also learn basic rugby rules and proven winning strategies. Participants should bring a labelled water bottle and wear athletic clothing. Soccer cleats and a mouth guard are recommended but not required.

Girls' Basketball Offensive Skills Camp

For girls entering grades 3^rd - 9^th

This camp is focused on teaching the players proper shooting form and developing offensive skills to become a better scorer. Our goal is to improve your scoring, ball handling, shooting, passing, footwork, decision-making, and 1 on 1 moves to take your game to the next level! The coaching staff along with current CMH Varsity players will be there to teach players the necessary skills to become a great shooter all while having fun doing so.

Players are to bring their own basketball and water bottles

Girls' Basketball Fundamentals of the Game Camp

For girls entering grades 3^rd - 9^th

Give your daughter the tools to play with heart, intelligence, and unwavering confidence. Our camp is designed to transform the "all-around player" by bridging the gap between basic drills and real-game mastery. Beyond just teaching the essential offensive and defensive fundamentals, we focus on the mental side of the game—building the self-assurance every young athlete needs to succeed both on and off the court. What sets the CMH experience apart is the unique opportunity for campers to train alongside our Girls Varsity players. Under the guidance of our varsity coaching staff and varsity mentors, your daughter will find a community that encourages her growth, celebrates her development, and shares a genuine love for the game.

Crusader Boys Volleyball Camp

For boys entering grades 4^th – 9^th

Whether you love volleyball, want to learn more about it, or just want to have some fun while staying active this summer, the CMH Boys Volleyball camp is right for you! Our camp is designed for boys entering 4th-9th grade, and all levels of experience are welcome. You don’t need to be attending CMH to join. Chandler North and his staff, along with some of the returning varsity players, will cover a variety of volleyball skills while leading and participating in drills and volleyball-centric camp games.

Athletic attire including gym shoes is expected and campers should bring their own water bottle. Campers will receive a T-shirt upon completion of the camp.

Please note: Coaches will offer supervision over the lunch break 11:30 AM-12:30 PM, in the Learning Commons (cafeteria) for campers who bring their own lunch.

Coaches CMH Varsity Head Coach & 2025 WIAA State Coach of the Year Chandler North will be leading all sessions. Chandler has been coaching volleyball for 12 years and still competes in professional tournaments around the country. Under his leadership last season, the Crusaders went undefeated in the Classic 8 Conference and finished 3rd in the WIAA State Tournament.

Along with Chandler, there will be support from fellow professional volleyball athletes (teammates of Chandlers’ on the Milwaukee Dive (VLA)), CMH assistant coaches (Peter Aspenson, Evan Solomon, and Nixon Blackman), and many returning Varsity players, altogether offering a unique chance for 1:1 feedback & coaching on the fundamentals for all participants!

Girls Volleyball Camp

For girls entering grades 3^rd – 9^th

Whether a beginner or advanced, the Catholic Memorial Volleyball Camps have options for you. Join in for the beginner and intermediate camps for specific skills, or fine tune your skills in the Elite/Incoming Freshmen camp. Specific skill camps allow athletes focus on one skill at time. Join in for the Elite camp to fine tune those skills at a more advanced level. There are great options for everyone at every skill level and both camps will train with our current Catholic Memorial Volleyball Staff and Varsity Athletes! We look forward to you training with us this summer.

Campers will receive a T-shirt. Sizes available: AS, AM, AL, AXL

Athletic Attire and Gym Shoes – Athlete should bring their own water bottle as well. We recommend packing a snack.

Junior Crusader Wrestling Camp

For students entering grades 3^rd -8^th

This introductory level wrestling camp is designed to do two things. 1. Expose your son or daughter to the foundational aspects of Folkstyle Wrestling. 2. Learn how to have fun, and exercise in a competitive way! The sport of wrestling gives many advantages to a young student, namely self-pride and self-defense, competitiveness, body control, and above all, the combination of all these mental and physical aspects of the sport inspires confidence! Come see for yourself.

It is preferred that campers wear wrestling shoes.

CMH Boys Basketball Skills Competition Camp

For boys entering grades 1st – 9th

Players will learn the fundamentals of basketball from the CMH varsity basketball coaches. Also assisting, will be current and former players. Through various drills, the fundamentals will be broken down and taught. Our goal is for each player to have a ton of fun, and to leave the CMH basketball clinic with improved skills and confidence in their basketball abilities. Campers should bring their own basketball and water bottle.

Theater Games and Improv

For students entering grades 5^th – 8^th

This camp uses fun and interactive games to build fundamental theater skills of character, movement, improv, collaboration, and risk taking. Lots of laughter will be had!

Please wear comfortable clothes for movement and a water bottle

American History with American Girl Dolls

For students entering grades 3^rd – 7^th

Students will learn about 3 different time periods in American history. Following each lesson, students will do crafts and activities that fit with each theme. On the last day of class, we will focus on modern times and make new accessories for our dolls!

Participants should wear clothing that is suitable for arts and crafts. Please bring your doll (can be American Girl or any other doll), a snack, and water bottle.

Instructor: Mrs. Katie Matel, bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mount Mary University. Her life-long appreciation for American Girl dolls sparked an interest in ready and American history, which she enjoys sharing with the next generation.

Camp Canvas & Clay

For students entering grades 1^st – 4^th

Get ready to paint, sculpt, stamp, and create! In this hands-on art adventure, campers will explore the beauty of nature through colorful canvas paintings and real kiln-fired clay projects. Young artists will experiment with stamping, modeling, and collaging techniques while turning leaves, animals, and outdoor inspiration into one-of-a-kind masterpieces. This camp is the perfect place for creativity to bloom.

Students may want to bring a paint shirt or smock to protect their clothing.

Instructor: Mr. Dan Burau, has been a K-12 art instructor for over two decades and teaches art at Catholic Memorial High School. He is also a photographer, painter, and sculptor with a Master of Fine Arts degree in graphic design.

Level Up Art Camp

For students entering grades 5^th – 8^th

Power up your creativity in this art camp! Campers will move beyond the basics as they unlock new drawing and painting skills with each project. Design 3D worlds using perspective drawing techniques, mix bold colors to create pixel-style scenes, and experiment with exciting media along the way. This camp will help students of all levels sharpen their skills and boost their crafting ability.

Students may want to bring a paint shirt or smock to protect their clothing.
