About Advance Placement Courses

Catholic Memorial High School offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses to give students the opportunity to master college level concepts and prepare students for the academic rigor of post secondary education.

Advanced Placement (AP) is a program run by the College Board (the makers of the SAT) that allows students to take intro college-level courses in high school, which can earn them college credit after taking the AP exam, and/or qualify students for more advanced classes in college.

AP classes equip students to better prepare, understand facts and data, and analyze and synthesize information. Students enrolling in an Advanced Placement course should carefully consider these rigorous requirements along with other courses they may be taking, as well as extra-curricular and service commitments.

CMH expects students who register for AP courses to take the AP exams in spring. There is a separate fee for each exam. Exam registration and payment is communicated and taken care of in the fall.
